Timing httpRequests through Browser

I am trying to time http requests through the browser as a simple Latency tester.

I can get the time the instant the request is sent via javascript, but i can't seem to time the response, from the CLIENT computer.

I was thinking I could call the same Javascript function when the response returns.

Any ideas?

I think you can use one hidden variable and in Body's onLoad load event just called one Javasctipt that will set current client system time.and as you say you already have Time of Request send,so you can compare both these time.
