Hi,

I have developed an .net windows service application to generate Excel reports. This service is working fine on window server 2003 for Excel 2003 and also for Excel 2007.I am trying to use the same service to generate Excel 2007 file in windows server 2008 maching(Hyper-V machine). In Windows server 2008 OS the service fails to generate/open the Excel 2007 file. But even in Windows server 2008 machine using non service project(Normal windows application) , the Excel file got opened/generated.

Can anyone please tell me , Can .net windows service open/generate excel 2007 file on windows server 2008 ?

Awaiting ur reply!!!

Regards,
Pramila

Dear Friend,
The security level of windows server 2008 is very high. It will block many files in the system. To run your project, some supporting file may block your system for security. Better you change your operating system, this version of operating system is used for server application and for high security level...

thank you,
-Pradeep
